Iowa authors J.O. and Debbie Parker with Our Front Porch Books

J.O. Parker is the editor of the Poweshiek County CR. He has won numerous awards from the Iowa Newspaper Association for both his writing and his photography. In 2003, he was one of only 29 photographers who were chosen to participate in the Missouri Photo Workshop. He is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Debbie Tindle Parker is an Iowa native and a graduate of Montezuma High School and Central College in Pella. She has had fiction, non-fiction and poetry published in Julien’s Journal, a regional magazine based in Dubuque. Debbie has camped at the Iowa State Fair with her family for more than 30 years.

J.O. and Debbie met in the campgrounds during the 2003 Iowa State Fair while J.O. was doing a story on campers from the Montezuma area. The Parkers enjoy vacationing in Hannibal, MO. J.O. is currently working on a new photography book and Debbie is preparing some of her fiction writing for publication.
